is there any messaging coming up on the camera when you try? .... perhaps the card is locked thats all i can think of or check adapter for scratches or micro ?

Re: Matte or Glossy
Hmm, good question! Personally, I'm more of a fan of matte. Matte doesn't show fingerprints as easily, and they don't show as many reflections in the light. I've also found they seem to hold colour better over the course of time. To me, they would be best, especially if they are going to be well-handled (or handled by kids). But that's my personal opinion and I know others will prefer the glossy ones.
